Twitter announced Monday it is pulling out of the upcoming South by Southwest (SXSW) festival in Austin.
Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey was scheduled to give a keynote address at SXSW, but the company said it is suspending "all non-critical business travel and events" until further notice.
The latest figures released Monday show there are 86 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the U.S. Two coronavirus-related deaths were reported in Washington state.
According to the World Health Organization, the overall number of cases is up to 89,197, with 3,048 deaths confirmed around the globe.
A local expert on infectious diseases said the scientific community is learning more about COVID-19.
