DALLAS (KRLD) - Following a unanimous vote, judge Clay Jenkins' emergency powers have been limited by the Dallas County commissioners.
Jenkins will now have to notify commissioners and call a meeting before placing any more restrictions on essential businesses.
Commissioner John Wiley Price says Jenkins needs to consult with fellow commissioners, before making major decisions.
"I'm getting my butt kicked on decisions you make on the fly. I get no input. No input at all. I hear about it from other individuals," Price says.
The move would also require Jenkins to get a majority vote before extending his shelter in place order past April 30th.
Jenkins had argued that calling meetings and votes, would cost him valuable time during this public health crisis.
