Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins has run out of patience with the slow pace of test result returns from the federally funded Coronavirus testing site at the Ellis Davis Field House.
Critics say it takes eight-to-ten days to get the results back. Compare that to one-to-three days it takes at the testing site at the University of Dallas in Irving which uses a private lab.
Judge Jenkins says the county and city will share the costs of hiring a private lab to process the Ellis Davis tests. That could cost up to $100,000 a day.
