DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - The city of Dallas could put new regulations on electric rental scooters that are popular in uptown, downtown and Deep Ellum.

Dallas city officials are considering a new ordinance that would require companies to de-activate the scooters after 11:30 p.m.

Dallas city council member Tennell Atkins says they are considering the regulation because a lot of the accidents involving scooters happen late at night.

The city could also require companies to set up parking stations for the scooters.

Dallas city council members will vote on the proposed new rules next month.
