DALLAS (KRLD) - Investigators say Jace Laws broke out of the Gregg County jail yesterday by carving through a brick wall.

Lt. Josh Tubb with the Gregg County Sheriff's office says, "Once he had access to the infrastructure, he managed to find his way to the exterior of the courthouse."

Laws took off. But, deputies found him in Gladewater today and took him back into custody.

Lt. Tubb says, "We do know that he had assistance."

He was originally locked up on two charges of assault on a peace officer and evading arrest in 2018.
