DENTON (1080 KRLD)- A member of the Denton Guyer High School Cross Country team apparently died while on a run this morning.

17-year old Dylan Dorrell, a member of the class of 2021, had been out for a run with other members of the cross country team, according to Denton Police. Dorrell had evidently become separated from other runners and was found in South Lake Park at 8:04.

"Witnesses on scene began administering CPR" said Amy Cunningham, a spokeswoman with Denton Police.  "When Denton Fire Rescue arrived they transported the individual to a local hospital and continued administering CPR.  Despite live-saving measures he was pronounced deceased at a local hospital."

Cunningham says there was no evidence of a crime, this appears to be a medical condition of some sort.

"We ask that you please keep Dylan’s family in your hearts and minds as they struggle with his loss." the Denton ISD said in a statement.

Grief counselors are being made available to students.
