GRAPEVINE (1080 KRLD) - Faced with complaints from travelers, DFW International Airport is ousting the homeless from Terminal A where they have taken been taking shelter during chilly nights.
A statement from the airport says: "from now on authorized users, including ticketed passengers, people meeting or assisting customers and employees are allowed at terminals and other airport facilities."
Fort Worth mayor Betsy Price, who sits on the DFW Airport Board of Directors, says this is about public safety: "We're here to serve citizens who are ticketed and their families who are picking them up."
DFW Airport police are now instructed to refer the homeless to shelters designed to serve them.
