EULESS (1080 KRLD) - Coronavirus travel restrictions are keeping a Euless family separated by over 3000 miles.

In March, Chris and Sheila Snell, along with 10-year-old daughter Kailah, flew to Sheila's native Peru for a wedding.

Mom and daughter were going to stay an extra week while Chris caught a flight back to north Texas for work. But no sooner was the jet airborne than, as Chris tells NBC-5,  he heard a startling announcement from the captain who said theirs was the last commercial flight out of Peru "for the foreseeable future."

Peru was closing its borders out of Coronavirus fears so Sheila and Kailah have been stuck for two months.

The US government has a program to loan Americans in this situation the money for a charter flight. But the money has to be repaid and those charter flights are prohibitively expensive because the flights are empty in-bound and almost empty out-bound.
