One of the great efforts to come out of the COVID-19 pandemic in North Texas has been the Everyone Eatz movement.

On Friday, the charitable endeavor will give away 3,000 fresh meals, and will cross 200,000 since the pandemic began.

Ram Mehta, who owns In Fretta restaurants in Irving and Plano is a leading voice of the effort, but has help from a multitude of companies and individuals who just want to get people fed during a tough time.

"At the end of the day, I believe humanity is the biggest religion," says Mehta. "Everybody is equal and nobody can say in this country that we don't have the opportunity to do good."

Friday's drive thru Everyone Eatz event is from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Vital Dental in McKinney at 5101 McKinney Ranch Pkwy.

Not only will they be giving away 3,000 meals, but also ice cream, PPE kits, dental kits, and masks. Members of the Dallas Cowboys organization will be on hand to help pass the goodies out.
