CRANDALL (1080 KRLD) - For more than two weeks, an elderly Crandall woman has been on a roller-coaster to recovery after an armed woman burned down her home.

For eleven days, Peggy Wright struggled with smoke inhalation in Parkland's burn unit. Then she was transferred to rehab but almost immediately had a setback and was rushed into intensive care.

Her daughter tells our news partner NBC 5 her mother's health is very precarious right now.

On October 15th, an armed woman stormed into Wright's Crandall home to rob her. She tied Wright to a chair, ransacked her place and set the home on fire heading out the door, leaving Wright to die.

A Good Samaritan saw the fire, rushed in and saved her. But at the age of 78, her heart and lungs are struggling to cope with all the smoke she inhaled.

Despite a very good artist's rendering of the robber's face, the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office has not been able to find her.

The arson suspect (pictured above) is still on the loose.
