FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - The Fort Worth city council will hear from citizens tonight about the city's teen curfew.
Fort Worth has had a teen curfew for 20 years. During the week, kids under the age of 17 have to be off the streets between 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
On Friday and Saturday the curfew is Midnight to 6:00 a.m.
Police say over the past several years fewer and fewer citations have been issued for breaking curfew, but they like the ordinance. Police say it helps keep kids safe and out of trouble.
State law requires the curfew ordinance be renewed every 3 years.
Fort Worth's curfew expires in February and the city council is scheduled to vote on renewing it next month.
