FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD)- The curfew is not going to be extended in Fort Worth.

Thursday, the City Council withdrew a proposal to prolong the curfew for another five days. But many opposed that including community activists who have been protesting the death of George Floyd who died in Minneapolis police custody last week.

Business owners also asked the council to end the 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew, saying it just added to the financial strain that began with government-mandated closures because of Coronavirus fears.

By unanimous decision, the council agreed to let the curfew end at 5 p.m. Thursday.
