GNC has filed for bankruptcy. The company says in a statement it's been under financial pressure for years and added the economic downturn from the coronavirus pandemic just made things worse.
The company plans to close 800 to 12-hundred stores permanently as part of its restructuring plan.
GNC is looking for a buyer, saying the minimum purchase price is 760-million dollars.
For now, all stores remain open for business.
