The school was locked down shortly after 1:30 Friday afternoon when a student found a snapchat of a person with a gun in his waistband on campus.

Police arrived on the scene and the gun was found in a student’s backpack. Two 17-year-old males, a juvenile male, and a juvenile female were taken into custody. One of those arrested was not a Grapevine High student.

Police say one person owned the gun, another posed for the picture, another took the picture and posted the picture on snapchat.

They face charges of terroristic threat, criminal trespass, possession of a firearm in a school zone, and in one case possession of marijuana.

We received a report of a student with a gun at GHS. Police conducted a thorough sweep of the building and all individuals involved are detained. The gun was found and has been secured by officers. We will continue in a lockdown until law enforcement has given the all clear.
