DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Several more North Texas school districts have announced they will be closed "indefinitely" to help fight the spread of the coronavirus.
Both the Dallas ISD and the Richardson ISD made that announcement on Monday, and several other school districts in Dallas County made similar announcements a few hours later.
The Cedar Hill ISD, DeSoto ISD, Duncanville ISD and Grand Prairie ISD will all be closed indefinitely.
A statement from the DeSoto ISD says the district will use "distance instruction" during the break and offer students the ability to learn at-home on-line. DeSoto is planning to continue distributing free meals to students at selected school locations and other districts have indicated they will provide meals for children.
The Garland ISD will remain closed through April 3rd.
