DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - A resource center for tornado victims starting to rebuild from last month's tornadoes closes at the end of the day Friday.

Nineteen non-profits and government agencies are set up at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 9509 Midway Rd.

"We highly encourage anyone who lost their home or whose home was severely damaged to reach out to us," says the Red Cross' Lisa Morgan. "Even the Texas Department of Insurance is at the multi-agency resource center, so if you have insurance, you can sit down, talk to them and get some information. The Department of Public Safety is there to help people get a license if they lost their license because of the tornadoes."

People will need to prove their identity to get assistance. Anyone who has lost their driver license can bring a deed, mortgage statement, lease, bank statement or utility bill to prove their address.

The Red Cross will provide $450 in emergency assistance via electronic funds transfer for people who need short-term help such as clothes, food or transportation.

"Every family is different, so the recovery process for each family is going to be unique and different, specific to their needs," Morgan says.

The multi-agency resource center will remain open until 5 p.m. Friday.
