DALLAS (KRLD) - A new charitable effort launched in North Texas is serving a double purpose and doing twice the good as the coronavirus pandemic continues to deepen.
"Get Shift Done" is matching furloughed restaurant workers with area food banks, allowing those who are temporarily out-of-work to pick up needed income during the crisis.
"Get Shift Done" co-founder Patrick Brandt told KRLD News the project also gives a much-needed boost to the food banks, which have seen the pool of available volunteers dry up during the COVID-19 outbreak.
Contributions to the fund can be made at GetShiftDone.org.
