Nine people were hurt when a boat caught fire at a marina on Lake Weatherford Saturday afternoon.
The Weatherford Fire Department and Weatherford Police Department responded to the fire around 3:00 pm Saturday.
Commander Jason Hayes with the Weatherford Police Department said the boat was filling up with gas when it caught fire.
Police said the boat sank near the “no wake” buoys at the opening of the marina, and crews were able to recover it late Saturday night.
Five were badly burned and four others hurt when the boat exploded. Most were transported to area hospitals for treatment. Their conditions have not been released.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Texas Game Wardens along with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
