There was heavy support for Phillip and Charles and Henry, but nobody had Archie.

At the British Emporium in Grapevine, owner Sheela Bailey said she was caught off-guard Wednesday when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced the name of their baby boy.  "Well, it is a slightly untraditional name, isn't it?  I was quite surprised when I heard.  I was not expecting that," Bailey said.

Her customers were quite shocked, as well.  For decades, the British Emporium has held "guess the name" contests when royal babies are born.  Bailey said, "There is no winner.  This is the first time in 27 years we've had a contest, and there's no winner, because nobody guessed that.  That was a real curveball, wasn't it?"

The child's full name is Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

Bailey said there were several popular choices among her customers who entered the naming contest.  "We had lots of traditional names picked out.  There was Arthur, there was Phillip, there was Henry.  I really like the name Arthur, and I really thought Phillip (the name of the baby's great-grandfather) would be in there, too." she said.

Bailey said some of her customers were in disbelief when they learned the baby's name.  "Some people were stunned.  Some people thought I was joking when I told them when they came in the shop this morning," she said.

Little Archie - who also has American blood - also made his first public appearance today.  Bailey called him a "bonnie" baby with an enchanting name, which she considers to be in the vein of Harry and Meghan's "modernization" of the monarchy.

As for the naming contest, the winner will be determined by random drawing.
