Firefighters from across North Texas are in California providing aid and relief as massive wildfires continue threatening landscape, homes and lives.
"They're starting to get tired, worn out, they're still pushing out a lot of fires. And their resources are just getting tight," says McKinney Firefighter Quincy Blount.
McKinney firefighters headed out Saturday and got their first assignment yesterday, helping crews battle the SCU Lightning Complex Fire.
The Frisco Fire Department says crews from Plano, Lewisville, Fort Worth, Dallas, Parker County and Lubbock also assisting with the massive wildfires.
In Texas, those left behind are stepping in to help fill shifts for the firefighters who agreed to travel to California.
