DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Folks are ‘Going Gold’ in Dallas as a sign of appreciation and love.
The new campaign is actually called Going Gold for Senior Living, and it's causing golden bows and ribbons to spread all across town.
Buckner retirement launched the campaign to show appreciation to their health care workers and residents, who are still feeling the impact of the pandemic every day.
Many senior living facilities have been on lock-down for several months now, and Buckner spokesperson Chris Ruth says it's been difficult for everyone. The campaign is meant to spread a little cheer.
"We wanted to create a campaign that showed support for our residents," Ruth says. "Something that gave that idea of, 'Hey, we know that you're having a rough time. We wanted to show our love and support.'"
All six Buckner communities in Texas, including Ventana in Dallas, are encouraging everyone to show their appreciation and 'Go Gold' by displaying a gold ribbon somewhere in their yard or on their house.
Ruth says by 'Going Gold', people are sending a message: We see you, and we care about you.
