Oncor has determined that its power lines were not to blame for the fire last week at the Poly-America plastics plant in Grand Prairie.

The three-alarm fire burned for several hours and sent up a thick plume of smoke that was visible for several miles.

Oncor officials say their power lines were functioning normally and fully intact when the fire started. They also say the Grand Prairie Fire Department has confirmed its power lines and equipment have been ruled out as the cause of the fire.

"We appreciate the diligent and thorough investigation by the Grand Prairie Fire Department and are grateful for the quick response and hard work of all first responders who helped extinguish the fire," said Connie Piloto, Director of Communications at Oncor.

Some Oncor equipment was damaged during the fire and is still in the process of being replaced. There were some power outages on the day of the fire but service was restored to the area a few hours after the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
