DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - One person is dead and four others are in custody following an early morning robbery at a Dallas apartment complex.
Three robbery suspects are currently behind bars and one is in custody in the hospital. All of them have been charged with capital murder in the shooting death of 21-year-old David Demato.
Dallas Police say the four suspects broke into an apartent on Cliff Creek Crossing Drive in Dallas early Sunday morning.
A wintess says Demato was sleeping when he heard breaking glass. He grabbed his gun and confronted the robbers, shooting one of them.
Police say the suspects then shot Demato multiple times, killing him.
They ransacked the apartment, then went to the hospital. The robber who was shot was rushed into emergency surgery. Police showed up and arrested two of the suspects, later identified as Damarte Burte and Josiah Salinas.
The other two suspects are juveniles. One was arrested, the other is in custody at the hospital.
