
Police in Arlington say they have taken a juvenile male into custody in connection with the murder of an Arlington High School student.
Officers were called to an address on Benge Drive near UT-Arlington at about 4:30pm on Thursday to investigate a call about shots being fired. When they arrived, the found 16-year-old Samuel Reynolds with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a nearby hospital but died from his injures.
Officers located and arrested the teen shooting suspect later Thursday evening.
Arlington ISD Superintendent Dr. Marcel Cavazos issued a written statement, saying that "the Arlington ISD asks that the community keep the family, classmates and teachers of this student in your thoughts."
The school district will have counselors available for students on Friday and continuing for as long as needed.
