There is a reason they call it Cowtown.

And in far north Fort Worth this morning, a 911 caller told police there was one, a cow, right in the middle of the street near Bowman Roberts Road and W.J. Boaz Road. That's just a block from Bosley High School.

About 1 a.m. Fort Worth police got the call and the caller said he or she would stay with the cow so drivers would not hit her.

Police managed to get Bossie out of the street and began looking for her owner.

That part of Fort Worth has some rural stretches where cows are free to graze and once in awhile, they make a break for it.
