SAN ANGELO (KRLD) - Witnesses told police a woman rode around in a motorized shopping cart at a San Angelo Walmart and tried to steal more than $500 worth of meat.

Investigators say Bessie Limuel left the meat and took off. Police arrived later and started asking questions. Police say that's when they found out she was on a motorized shopping cart at another Walmart trying to steal $200 worth of meat.

Officers then attempted to arrest Limuel but she fought back.

San Angelo Police Corporal Tracy Piatt-Fox says, "the struggle went to the ground. As the officer as trying to detain the suspect in handcuffs, the suspect was fighting her. At one point, the suspect bit the officer on the leg." Piatt-Fox says two shoppers then stepped in to help.

The officer received minor injuries. Limuel is now in jail facing a number of charges.
