The Public Utility Commission of Texas has stopped taking applications for its Electricity Relief Program.

Andrew Barlow with the PUC says the program was designed to help people who were struggling financially because of COVID-19.

The program started in March. Barlow says people who qualified will be protected from having their electricity service disconnected through the end of September.
