Southwest is working to help it's customers extend those travel vouchers.
Because the pandemic has interupted travel plans for so many people, Southwest like most other airlines, has issued travel vouchers for people who canceled their flights.
Southwest calls those vouchers 'travel funds' and they do expire. Vouchers issued during the pandemic expire in September of 2022.
But the Dallas-based airline wants to make sure customers feel welcome to fly again, whenever they are ready.
The company is allowing people to convert their 'travel funds' into points in it's frequent flyer program. Southwest's Rapid Rewards program is one of the most popular in the business because those points never expire.
Southwest says it's making the change so it's customers have one less thing to worry about.
