Arlington Police are investigating a hit-and-run case on Highbank Drive.

Police say one person was hit by a car and killed just outside Bowie High School.

Investigators say two groups had gathered outside the school to have a fight. There were two cars filled with people. One vehicle with five occupants arrived first, with a second vehicle arriving a short time later.

Police say the driver of that vehicle aimed his car at the first vehicle and sped toward it. The five people inside that target car jumped out to avoid the collision, but police say one of them was struck by the suspect's car. He was taken to the hospital but died from his injuries.

Police are looking for the driver of that vehicle. They describe the car as passenger sedan. They have not released any description of the suspect.

Police say the victim was a high school student in Arlington and that they are working with the Arlington ISD, but they have not confirmed if he was a student at Bowie High School.

They're asking anyone with information about the case to  contact Detective Julia Hall at 817-459-5325.
