HALTOM CITY (1080 KRLD) - Police say a man with a gun prompted a stand-off in a neighborhood of Haltom City Tuesday morning.
Haltom City Police were called to a house on Falcon Ridge Dr., near Beach Street between Loop 820 and Western Center, about 2:30 Tuesday morning.
Police say they were called about a person with a gun at the house. They say they found an adult man who refused to come outside.
Police say two kids, ages six and eight, were inside the house. They say the man was not threatening to hurt either child; he was only threatening himself.
SWAT shut down access to the neighborhood. Police say the suspect never threatened officers, but he was refusing to give himself up.
About 6:30, the suspect surrendered. He was taken for questioning. Neither child was hurt.
Tuesday morning, police had not confirmed the man's relationship with the kids.
