A year after his death, artworks belonging to legendary Texas billionaire financier and oilman T. Boone Pickens will be going up for auction this weekend in Dallas.
J. Garrett Auctioneers says the items include Pickens’ furnishings and pieces of art from the 18th and 19th Centuries.
The four-day auction begins Saturday.
Some of the items include original etchings from Picasso and Rembrandt that could fetch up to $25,000.
There is also a couple of hand carved tubs, one made of onyx the other blue limestone. The tubs could go for $10,000 each.
Because of the Coronavirus, there will be no in-person bidding and everything will be conducted online. The auction will be via LiveAuctioneers.com and Invaluable.com, with phone and absentee bids accepted.
Pickens died last year on September 11th at the age of 91.
Once estimated to be worth more than $1 Billion, Pickens was worth about $500 million when he died because he had given away more than half of his fortune to philanthropic and educational causes.
