DALLAS (KRLD) - September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. It's a month to remember the impact that cancer has not only on the lives of the almost 300,000 children worldwide diagnosed with cancer each year, but also the lives of the families.

KRLD's John Liddle had the chance to talk with Christian Englert, and his mom Shanna. Christian is now 19, and four years ago his life changed when he was diagnosed with an incredibly rare brain tumor, called a PPTID.

Listen to Christian and Shanna's story here:

Christian graduated from Colleyville Heritage High School, and is now a Sophomore majoring in Biblical Studies at Dallas Baptist University.

They make it their mission to tell their story as much as possible. Shanna and Christian wanted to thank Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth for their care in diagnosing and treating Christian's tumor.

His cancer is in remission.
