A Central Texan who said wanted to get back at women who wouldn't date him is going to prison for a little over 38 years.

Kerrville's Christopher Zamarripa downloaded photos of faces from social media sites of at least 14 women he knew and superimposed them on individuals engaged in explicit and violent sexual activities.  Then he uploaded the altered images to pornographic websites.

Assistant US attorney Bettina Richardson says at first he said the women disrespected him.  He said they didn't want to date him.  Then said he did it for sexual gratification.   After his conviction, he said he was remorseful.  "He said his remorse came after he had been incarcertated and had lost his privacy rights."

Speaking of privacy, one of the women learned she had been victimized when her co-worker saw the image online and told her.  That's what led to his arrest in 2017, after he'd been doing this for about a year.

Aside from ten counts of cyberstalking, the 46-year-old was also convicted of one count of child pornography.

Bettina Richardson says this case is a wake-up call for all of us.  "In this day of advanced technology and the ability to edit and reproduce images, we have to be so careful and cautious what we make available to other people."
