Matchbox cars, the coloring book and the collectible card game "Magic: The Gathering" were inducted Thursday into the National Toy Hall of Fame.
The latest additions bring to 71 the number of toys to join the Hall since 1998.
Among the nominees that fell short this year: Care Bears, the Fisher-Price Corn Popper, Masters of the Universe, My Little Pony, Risk, Nerf Blaster, Jenga, the smartphone and the top.
The National Toy Hall of Fame is housed at the Strong Museum of Play in Rochester, New York.
