FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - Fort Worth's new electric bus circulator, The Dash, will continue to be free until the end of the year.
"Originally we were going to close down the free rides at the end of October," says Bob Baulsir, president and CEO of Trinity Metro. "But boy, we've had such good responses from the riding public that we've decided to extend it through the end of the year."
Ridership on The Dash has grown since its launch.
"We've averaged as high as 400 rides in a day," says Baulsir, "and it continues to grow."
Once The Dash does start collecting fares, it will be $2 for a single ride or $5 for an all-day pass, which is good on all of the system's services.
"If you already had a day pass or a monthly pass, it would all be included in that same fare," Baulsir says.
