DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Two people were shot and a third person was injured at a motel in Northwest Dallas before dawn Thursday.
Police were called to a report of a shooting at Royal Inn at 2030 W. Northwest Hwy about 3:00 a.m.
Police say two people had been shot in a room. They performed CPR and paramedics arrived, but the two died.
A third person was injured, but she was able to walk to an ambulance. Police have not confirmed whether she was shot or injured by broken glass or other debris.
Police talked to other people staying at the motel and got a description of the car the suspect drove off in. A patrol officer spotted the car on Harry Hines Blvd.
Police started chasing the suspect. They say he abandoned his car near near Harry Hines and Mockingbird and started running. Police caught and arrested him nearby.
Dallas police spent the rest of the night at the motel, talking to witnesses and gathering evidence. They have not said what may have led to the shooting.
