DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - With several big local projects in the pipeline, Uber will hold a special town hall in Dallas at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Following recent announcements on self-driving vehicle data collection and the selection of Dallas for a new Uber hub, the company's Advanced Technologies Group CEO, Eric Meyhofer, will update the team's plans for North Texas.  Meyhofer will also take questions from the community.

Uber will open a major corporate hub in Deep Ellum, with plans to grow the unit to as many as 3,000 employees.  And in November, the company will start mapping Dallas streets, as it considers testing self-driving cars in the city.

Uber will also test its planned urban air taxi service in North Texas.

Community members interested in attending are asked to RSVP for Tuesday's town hall, which will be held at Uber's new office location at 2550 Pacific Ave. in Dallas.
