DALLAS (KRLD) - A new study found that nearly half of U.S. workers earn extra income on the side.
The average person working that extra job brings in an extra $1,122 a month by working 12 hours a week, according to Bankrate.com.
"For some people, that's because they really need extra money just to make ends meet, " Bankrate analyst Amanda Dixon says.
She adds that younger adults are most likely to do this by using technology to earn extra cash.
Dixon says 40% of Millennials with side jobs say they earn at least half of their money from side jobs. This compared to 22% Gen Xers and 9% of Baby Boomers.
