PLANO (KRLD) - A camera belonging to a Plano doctor is back in the hands of her family today, a week after her death.
The camera contains images of the last few days of Doctor Laila Jiwani's life.
The 42-year-old pediatrician was killed Dec. 27 while vacationing with her family in Tennessee when a tree fell on her while she was hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Her 6-year-old son was also hurt but he is recovering.
As the family returned home two days after the accident, they left their camera on the plane. The family took to social media asking for the camera to be returned.
American Airlines found it and an employee flew the camera from Midland to DFW airport to return it to the Jiwani family in person.
