DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Need a place to beat this oppressive heat?   The Salvation Army can help.  

The Salvation Army has opened 13 coolings stations across North Texas to help keep people safe and comfortable. 


There are stations open in Dallas, Oak Cliff, Fort Worth and Denton just to name a few. 

Those cooling stations will be open every day from 9:00 a,m, through 8:00 p.m.

People can pop in to enjoy some cool air and a cold drink. 

If you're spending time outdoors during this heat wave make sure to take lots of breaks and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. Reducing excessive exposure to extreme heat can help you avoid most heat related illnesses.
