DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Southwest Airlines flights were grounded across the country for about an hour Friday morning due to a network issue. Southwest reported the issue with its computer network about 4:30 am.

Southwest was responding to passengers on Twitter, writing, "Our Network Operations Control Team is aware of the issue, and we are working diligently to get you on your way as quickly as possible" to passengers sending messages.

Most flights at Love Field were running on time Friday morning.

"It's okay to have a glitch. Everyone has a glitch once in a while," one woman said. She said her flight to California was still on time, but the woman at the counter next to her had to be rebooked.

Other passengers say they they hope the computer problem and issues with emergency maintenance and problems with the mechanics' union will not affect Southwest long term.

"I haven't had any trouble since I got here this morning, so I'm hoping it's okay. Maybe I haven't heard everything," another woman said. "Even if we were delayed, I'd still fly Southwest."

Earlier this week, Southwest canceled hundreds of flights because of winter weather in other parts of the country and declared an "operational emergency" when more planes than usual were grounded for maintenance.
