FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - Liberty Income Tax service says it is looking at why documents with the personal information of customers were found in a dumpster in Mansfield.

The information was from customers of the Liberty Income Tax office at 3401 Altamesa in Fort Worth.

A man cleaning a building in Mansfield found boxes with the documents Sunday. He started calling people to tell them he had found their information.

"He read off my information. He told me what I look like. He was looking at my ID," says Jacqueline Holbert, who says the janitor called her. "Right now, I feel extremely vulnerable. If anybody wanted to do anything to me, they would have had it."

Holbert says the man also found canceled checks and W2s. None of the information had been shredded.

"I haven't even thought past hoping nothing else happens," she says.

Liberty Income Tax says it has found the dumpster and recovered documents. The service says it has contacted the people affected but would not say how many people were put at risk.

Liberty Income Tax says it is offering free identity theft protection for customers of the office on Altamesa.
