On this day when more school districts are opening their doors for the fall, the Texas Education Agency released the grades on the report cards for all the school districts and charter schools in the state.
North Texas did really well again on this study. It's based mostly on STAAR test results and school progress and what the TEA calls "closing the gaps".
In some updated information that we received this morning, some districts improved over last year's ratings.
Mesquite graded up from a C last year to a B this year.
Arlington and Duncanville both made that same improvement up to a B.
Dallas ISD scored a B for the second year in a row. Lewisville also graded out to a B.
Fort Worth ISD stuck at a C.
Ferris ISD jumped from a D grade last year up to a B, Lake Worth and DeSoto both went from a D to a C.
