The Dallas Cowboys begin training camp Wednesday with their first practice in Oxnard, California, as the team starts preparations for the 2026 season.
Players take the field at 11:45 a.m. Pacific time at River Ridge Playing Fields for the opening workout of the team’s 20th training camp in the coastal city. The session is open to the public, with gates opening two hours earlier.
The Cowboys arrived in Oxnard on Monday. On Tuesday, owner Jerry Jones, executive vice president Stephen Jones and head coach Brian Schottenheimer held the traditional State of the Cowboys press conference.

Jones expressed optimism about the roster. He said he likes what the team is bringing into camp and believes the Cowboys have a chance to return to the playoffs. The owner pointed to major changes on defense, including a new coaching staff and several roster additions, as reasons for confidence after a relatively quiet offseason.
“I like the mood,” Jones said. “I like what we’re coming to camp with.”
The team enters camp with a fully healthy roster. No players were placed on the physically unable to perform or non-football injury lists after physicals. Key players who dealt with offseason injuries, including defensive end Donovan Ezeiruaku and cornerback DaRon Bland, are cleared to participate.
Training camp in Oxnard runs through mid-August and includes several open practices, fan events and joint sessions with the Los Angeles Rams and New Orleans Saints. The first padded practice is scheduled for Aug. 3. The Cowboys will hold their annual Opening Ceremony on Aug. 1.
The Cowboys open the preseason at the Arizona Cardinals on Aug. 22.
