GAINESVILLE (1080 KRLD) - Two people are dead following yesterday's small plane crash in Gainesville.

The FAA says the twin-engine Piper crashed and burned about a quarter-mile from the runway at Gainesville Municipal Airport.

One person was dead at the scene while the other was flown to Dallas where she died overnight.

Quoting a DPS spokesman, the Gainesvill Register reports the victims were a male student and a female flight instructor.
