KAUFMAN (1080 KRLD) - People who live in Kaufman County can get a look at plans to expand Highway 80.
TXDOT hopes to add an additional main lane to Highway 80 from I-30 to F-M 460 in Kaufman County. The project would also add continuous frontage roads.
The wider highway would force two fast food restaurants, a self-storage business and a vacant office building to be torn down.
The project would cost $740 million.
TXDOT hopes to start construction in 2022 and says the expansion would take three years to complete.
