DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Josephine Kirk-Taylor was recording video as she waited for 5-year-old Melina to get off the bus from her first day of kindergarten.
Suddenly, a blue Toyota raced by ignoring the bus's stop sign and flashing lights.
The driver nearly hit the child. The video went viral.
Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo says they arrested 18-year-old Julio Correas for reckless driving.
Acevedo says, "We're going to continue to target people who pass school buses. Our traffic enforcement division is actually following school buses through their routes in unmarked cars and they are handing out violations."
