DENTON (1080 KRLD) - Balloons, candles, flowers, photographs - all part of last night's vigil in memory of a Denton toddler who was found dead in a car yesterday.
The discovery ended a 16-hour search that began Tuesday afternoon when Sarbesh Gurung's mother went to check on him as he was taking a nap. Finding the two-year-old boy gone, she called police who immediately began an intensive search in a five-mile radius from the family's apartment.
Aided by firefighters and civilian volunteers, police co-ordinated a systematic hunt.
Finally, Wednesday morning, a neighbor opened his SUV and found the boy's body.
Police say due to tinted windows and a sun screen in the windshield, it would have been very difficult for anyone to have spotted the little boy.
Last night, dozens of friends, neighbors and even strangers gathered outside the family's apartment to mourn Sarbesh's death.
