Cloudy And Mild Today, Much Colder Thursday

A little bit of everything in your 7-day forecast:

The buzz going around north Texas right now is the possibility of wintry weather Sunday and Monday. As of now I don't think we're gonna see much here in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

There could be some light freezing drizzle north of highway 380 and west of interstate I-35W early tomorrow morning as a much colder air seeps into the area as early as late this afternoon. Morning lows in the immediate Dallas/Fort Worth area will be slightly above freezing tomorrow morning.

A stronger cold front moves through the area late Saturday morning dropping temperatures through the 40s during the day. We hover in the upper 30s all day Sunday with a slight chance of a wintry mix, just north and west of the Dallas Fort Worth area.

Second front arrives late Sunday night. Very dry Arctic air filters in behind this front. An upper level disturbance will ride across the area during the day on Monday may squeeze out a few flurries, but right now I think most of north Texas will dodge a bullet for any wintry weather.

These disturbances are coming in from the west-northwest.... if they were coming in from the southwest and moving northeast just south of the metroplex Sunday and Monday, we would have a big ice or snow storm on our hands, but this is NOT going to happen.

Temperatures will be cold early next week. Lows in the low 20s Monday and Tuesday morning with highs struggling to get above freezing Monday, approaching 40 on Tuesday and then warming up after that.
