The area of storms in central Oklahoma right now should weaken as they approached the Red River later this morning. A large outflow boundary or mini cool front well push across the Red River this afternoon and clash with daytime heating, producing another squall line. All facets of severe weather are possible. Tornadoes, if any do form along that leading edge of the line, will be weak and short lived.
TODAY: Another round of storms are possible... they're expected to develop near the Red River Friday afternoon and move south and southeast Friday night. Some storms may be severe. Here's the latest details. #dfwwx #ctxwx #txwx pic.twitter.com/Pq11zCXbrw
— NWS Fort Worth (@NWSFortWorth) May 22, 2020Flash flooding and wind in excess of 60 mph are my biggest concerns. I will have the exact timing of this event by early afternoon.
More waves of rain will affect us late tomorrow evening and then again on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. This is not good! Before all is said and done, some areas may pick up over 7" of rain.
